September 2014 President’s Letter

Dear Zonta friends,

We had a festive event on September 12 at Brio Tuscan Grille in Cherry Creek to celebrate our achievement of 501(c)(3) status. Our Club was honored to share this special occasion with representatives of the service agencies that we support, including CWEE, Empowerment, Excelsior, Florence Crittenton Services, The Learning Source, and SafeHouse. We were joined by Zonta sisters from other clubs, including Area 3 Director Ann Hodgson, and Chris Rhoda and Debbie Squires, who are Presidents of Area 3 Zonta clubs. Guests also included potential members for our club, and family and friends. In addition to about 45 guests who attended, our invitation and announcement of achieving 501(c)(3) status was sent to more than 200 other people, including supporters of our golf tournament, service agency leaders, and Area 3 club members. This event provided the opportunity for us to feature our many past contributions of time and financial support to our partner service agencies, and to introduce our upcoming fundraisers. Many thanks to all who assisted with this event, including Emma, Terri, Ellen, Pat, Deb U, Lois, Jan, Carol J, Jeannie S, Carol L, Mary, and Julia. And many thanks to all Club members who attended and made our guests feel so welcome.

Hope to see you at our September 25 dinner meeting at the University Club, when Josh Evans, Executive Director of the Learning Source will be the guest speaker.
