Finance
Just a reminder that the golf tournament is fast approaching (June 6th).
We want to make this year’s tournament a huge success, so here’s what you can do to help:
• WE NEED GOLFERS! The cost for players is $135/each, and our goal this year is to register 80 golfers. So, we need all members to talk to friends, business associates, golf league buddies, or acquaintances.
• WE NEED SPONSORS! While we have our master tournament sponsor, we would like to get as many sponsors as possible. This is where we make the real money for the club. Please think about any businesses or foundations or individuals that you think may be interested in sponsoring out tournament this year. There are many sponsorship opportunities available, as follows:
o Eagle Sponsor – $2,500 (includes registration for 4 players, plus 4 shirts, a special gift, program recognition, and hole and lunch table signage)
o Birdie Sponsor – $1,250 (includes 2 players, plus the opportunity to register extra players at a reduced price of $100 each, shirts, special gift, program recognition, and hole and lunch table signage) o Awards Lunch Sponsor – $850 (includes 1-hole signage, lunch table signage, and program recognition)
o Pre-Tee Breakfast Sponsor – $650 (includes 1-hole signage and program recognition)
o Ditty Bag Sponsor – $250 (includes 1-hole signage and program recognition)
o Program Print Sponsor – $250 (includes 1-hole signage and program recognition)
o Extra-Hole Sponsor – $150 (per hole)
If you have names of potential sponsors, but do not want to make the pitch yourself, call or email someone on the Finance Committee, and we will make the contact.
• WE NEED DONATIONS FOR THE STEAL-A-DEAL RAFFLES! Gift certificates from restaurants, great products, airline tickets, vacation homes, wine baskets, etc. – just to name a few items on our wish list this year! • WE NEED VOLUNTEERS! More information to come later about volunteering at the tournament, but please put the date on your calendar to either play or volunteer.
Advocacy
Bridging the Gap
The Advocacy Committee and Club hosted a fun event on May 14 for the participants of the Mile High United Way Bridging the Gap program, who are young adults who have emancipated from foster care. Our Club provided a free evening of bowling and an Italian buffet dinner at the Regency student housing complex for our guests. Mile High United Way contributed part of the cost of the event. Club members attending and welcoming our guests included Debra, Grace, Lois, Terri, Beth, Marie Kriss and Suzanne. Twenty-five BTG participants, five BTG staff, and our Club members had a great time at this event, which provided the opportunity for the youth to network with each other, build a community, and strengthen their ability to advocate for themselves in finding resources to achieve their goals in life. Our support is much-needed by this vulnerable population, and the BTG participants and staff were very appreciative of Zonta.

Members provided a lot of donations at the April meeting – thank you! Here’s the inventory summary – the items we are most in need of now are washcloths and body lotion. JoAnn will be delivering 15 welcome bags on May 12 or 13, so the far right column shows the need after that delivery.
