FINANCE UPDATE
Golf Tournament: Despite the lack of a tournament sponsor this year, our 16th Annual Candy Meininger-Johns Memorial Golf Tournament was surprising success! We couldn’t have asked for a better day at Red Rocks Country Club, and all 68 players had a great time. And, best of all, our net proceeds were approximately $8,128 – only about $1,500 less than the 2015 tournament. Thanks so much to EVERY member for your help making this year’s golf tournament such a success – we truly couldn’t have done it without you! The donations, the sponsorships, the gifts, the volunteers, the players – everyone really pitched in this year in extraordinary ways to fill in the gaps. The Finance Committee appreciates ALL of you for your efforts!
Save the Date – next year’s tournament will be held again at Red Rocks Country Club on June 19, 2017!
Wine Tasting: The second wine tasting will be held on September 17, 2016, at Columbine Federal Credit Union. More information regarding volunteer needs, silent auction items, and flyers will be reviewed at the July meeting.
Co-chairs of the Finance Committee for the upcoming year will be Jeannie Snider and Pat Congleton. Thank you to Ellen Fitzpatrick and Pat Congleton for all the time and hard work spent to make the 2015-16 fundraising year a rousing success!
PROGRAM
The next general membership meeting will be on Thursday, July 28, 2016. Same time and place – 6 pm at the University Club. RSVPs (only if you will not be coming) are due to Emma Hanson by Monday, July 25, 2016.
At July’s meeting, Deb Ureel, Marcy O’Toole, Terri Otley, and Sharon Faircloth will share their experiences, impressions, and results from the Zonta International Convention held in Nice, France.
In August, Jessica Negrete will be our guest speaker. Jessica was our 2008 Sue Burch Scholarship recipient and is a success story! Jessica will talk to us about her story and the help she received along the way.
Also in August, we will be assembling silent auction baskets for the upcoming wine tasting.
