July 2014 President’s Letter

Dear Zonta friends,

Our annual retreat on July 12 was a revitalizing day in a beautiful location in the mountains. The retreat provided the opportunity for camaraderie and strengthening our relationships with each other. We reflected on our many accomplishments of the past year, and made plans for the upcoming year to increase the effectiveness of our club in fundraising, service, and advocacy. We renewed our commitment to the essential work done by our club to advance the status of women locally and globally.

We are poised to leverage our achievement of 501(c)(3) status so that we can assist more women in need. We brainstormed ways to make the club experience more valuable and rewarding for members. Many thanks to all of the members who devoted the time from their busy schedules to make this a well-attended retreat that provides us with momentum for the new program year. We missed the members who were unable to attend due to illness or vacations.

The retreat reminds me once again of the dedication and capabilities of our members that make our club strong. With our rekindled enthusiasm, we will make a real difference in the lives of many girls and women in our community.
