Hello Everyone,

We love our fund raisers.  Well, actually we love what we can do with the money we earn from our fund raisers.  We support our scholarship winners, both students and teachers.  We support projects on the international level.  And we give grants to local organizations that empower marginalized women and girls  in so many ways.

A very easy fund raiser is just around the corner.  Excelsior’s Gala—Triumphant Faces—is Friday, March 7 and we need ticket sellers.  You don’t have to sell to your friends and families (although they may want to buy a chance at winning 7 nights at a luxury resort in Mexico) all you need to do is dress up and show up.  You will sell tickets during cocktail hour at the Gala.  Last year in less than two hours we sold $7,000 worth of raffle tickets to those attending the gala.  That money went directly to Excelsior, a residential treatment facility for adolescent girls ages 11-21 who go to school, get mental health treatment and counseling, and learn about making effective and healthy choices as well as personal responsibility.  If you haven’t been on their website lately, check it out at www.excelsioryc.org.

This year I will have the tickets in advance if you would like to buy or would like to make them available to people you know.

2014 Triumphant FACES Gala Raffle 7-Night Vacation to Punta de Mita, Mexico from Inspirato Resorts

Prize: 7-Night Stay at Punta de Mita, Mexico Value: $6,000

Stay at one of Inspirato’s following residences: Las Olas, Arena Blanca or Puesta del Sol.All residences are 2,100 square feet, have 3 bedrooms and can accommodate 6 people. Conditions and restrictions: Blackout dates include the weeks of New Years, Presidents Day, Thanksgiving, Fourth of July, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Christmas (including week before and after) and Spring Break (last three weeks of March and first two weeks in April). Travel must be booked 12 months from March 7, 2014. Subject to availability. Package does not include meals, tips, transfers or airfare.

Please let me know if you will be able to sell tickets on March 7.  I believe cocktail hour is from 5:30-7 that evening, but I will confirm this by our next member meeting.  We will enjoy the rest of the evening—dinner and entertainment—as guests of Excelsior.  I hope you can participate!
