January 2015 President’s Letter

And now let us welcome the new year,

Full of things that have never been.

Rainer Maria Rilka, German poet

Dear Zonta friends,

This month, I hope that each of you experiences the exhilaration and renewed energy that the new year brings.  January is named after the Roman god, Janus, who is portrayed as looking to the future and to the past.  Looking to the future, this is a time of new possibilities for each of us personally, and for our club.  Let’s find new ways for our club to be the most rewarding experience for our members.  Looking to the recent past, we have shown a tireless commitment to our numerous service projects, improving the lives of many women and girls in our community.  The importance of our contributions has been recognized in meaningful ways by our service agency partners.

In January, we have a break from our usual monthly general meeting.  Instead, our club is hosting the Amelia Earhart luncheon on January 24, at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, and the annual Area 3 meeting which will be held before the luncheon.  Our club members have risen to the occasion once again by actively supporting this combined event in a variety of ways.  Denver II has made a strong showing of Zonta spirit with the highest participation of any of the Area 3 clubs.  We’re off to a great start.  Let’s make this our best year yet!

Warm regards,

Suzanne
